      Congratulations, Mr. President
The Wall of News, January 20 ,2008

Mr. Obama has just been sworn in as the 58 President of the United States. Yes, the 58th President. We invite you to visit U. S. Presidents at saidnews.org and do the counting yourself. But, this is not about how many Presidents there have been, but rather what the President should expect from the Boss, the American People.

Traditionally a president will try to make their policies the Middle of the Road for America. It is instead time to bring our new President to the Middle of America. His agenda does not decide, it is the American People's combined wisdom that is the agenda. Mr. Obama, please listen to those who hired you.

In the most important arena, taxation, it is time to remind our new President that in the past federal taxation levels were 3% of the Gross National Product. It is now at 30.8% of all income and is still climbing. This means it is time, Mr. Obama, to help redesign our taxation system. The wisest approach is the removal of the 16th Amendment. Again, make the States the gatherer of the taxes. Let the people decide by reviewing our elected officials' tax bill to each state and then make them defend their appropriations. This will reduce spending better than any program which will be conceived to deal with over-spending. A quick way to envision this concept is to think about the day that America pays off the federal tax bill. It can now become January 11 instead of being April 23rd and moving toward May.

Second, let us deal with the national health issue by allowing the People to control spending. How? By setting up Health Savings Accounts. This program would place specific monies into a health account. A large umbrella health package can ride on top of this account to protect against devastating expenses. Each year, if the account does not use up all the investment, it is rolled over. In the end, it can be used for retirement.

What about those who are having difficulties obtaining health care? The government will assist by placing into this account some or all of the yearly investment. If additional investment for an umbrella account is needed, government may assist there, too.

The results is private health care where the public will watch health care costs because they are rewarded with more buying power through having more dollars to spend or save for a roll-over. The medical industry will have to prove their standards and costs; why, because if they do not bring the best pricing to the table for equal quality, the public will go down the road to the next provider.

Mr. Obama, let the American People do their work without government interference. Then possibly you will be able to do the work the American People hired you to do. Again, congratulations, Mr. President. And thank you for your love of America and the American People.
