This
monograph was intended for release on
September
16, 2009. It was withheld because of the
change of position by the White House, which
is
now being denied by the Obama Administration.
This
is not an attack against Mr. Obama; but, a
plea
to keep politics out of this important part of the
American People's security and how he is
being
perceived by voters nation-wide.
Obama, the self destruction of a presidency
Wall of News August 16, 2009
It seems amazing that seven months into his presidency, Mr. Obama has
not corrected his self-destructive course as the President of the
United States. It was the hope of most Americans whether they voted
for Mr. Obama or not, that he would at least bring the people back
together as a nation.
It appears, yet again, that the President pretends to listen to the
people only to continue to ignore their frustration with the
"business as usual" attitude from the White House. His
personal attacks on private citizens who are accurately stating the
facts and concerns about a national health plan as liars or those who
believe in liars is inexcusable.
Yes, there is some mis-information about this health plan, but on
both sides. The tenacity of the president to shift the concerns of
the American people to red herrings and strawman issues denotes
something more expected in grade school, not the President of the
United States.
Again, the President is diverting legitimate concerns about another
proposed faulty government program which will be more controlling of
people's lives and at the same time diverting more earned income to
what more and more citizens are believing as a wasteful power hungry
government. It can make one wonder if Mr. Obama is the compassionate
individual who cares for this country and her people.
Why is Mr. Obama leaving an impression that he thinks the American
people are liars, stupid and the President know best? Why is Mr.
Obama not careful to correct his pose for cameras so as not to leave
the appearance that he looking down his nose at everyone other than
for himself and his chosen few? Why can't our leaders actually listen
to the real concerns of the citizens for once?
When all the distortions are removed, what literally scares the
American people about your "Hillary-care" or as it is
called now, "Obama-care" is that it is more government,
more control and that these are only the first proposed steps to:
ugly down the road.
The American people do not trust the insurance companies. What the
American people trust is competition and the free enterprise system
to keep these companies in line. The people fear that the
government's role in healthcare will distort the opportunities for
real healthcare changes, as it is currently doing and have done in
the past. The American people understand that a major role in the
iniquity of the healthcare system has been caused by government - and
now you want more.
Mr. President, it is time to step past your limited vision and
understand the world. The fox is not the cure to missing chickens in
the hen house. The American people are distressed at the V. A. style
health care our veterans are getting and they will not tolerate it
for themselves. This is what they truly believe will happen now or
later. Square wheels on a Buick to smooth the ride is not the
solution that is acceptable to the American people.
Please stop this silliness before it destroys your presidency. Offer
instead a Health Savings Plan to the people with full tax protection.
Allow for an umbrella insurance plan that protects on top of this
account that both employees and employers have contributed. Allow
this plan to be rolled over from year to year so that a strong
cushion of protection can be accumulated. And if an individual needs
help, the government can step in with assistance with the HSA so all
may have a good health plan without the indignity of government aid
being the funding source.
This is what the people will trust. Especially if you will allow non-profits
to co-op insurance for group coverage rates, not as an insurance
company rather as a source for best group rates as individuals and
specialized groups. As an example. If AARP could bid for the best
price on insurance, that would make the insurance companies offer the
best rates. AARP would create, with the help of experts, several
plans and then bid the insurance out for best rate. This is different
than being paid a promotional fee to endorse an insurance company as
it is now doing.
What a shame it would be that this presidency will become the 21st
Century's Carter Administration. A shame indeed. |
